It is now 11:40 at night and we are pooped so this is going to be short. We will write more later. We hired a shuttle to take us to the White House. The tulips were beautiful, the dude in the street protesting 80 years old and psycho, and the sniper on the roof was cool. Sarah stuck her hand through the fence and stole Obama's grass.
Then we went to Arlington Cemetery. It was cool how all of the tombstones were alike and all in a row. You could see JFK's flame on his grave at night from across the river. Anne Marie's favorite part of the day was the Changing of the Guard. Trace liked how they clicked their feet together before they turned. We also visited Robert E. Lee's house.
Then we stopped for lunch at the mall and went on to Mount Vernon. Everyone really liked the blacksmith shop. The blacksmith was making a hammer and talked to us about how he made it. The rooms in the house was really colorful because color showed that you were really wealthy. We saw the George Washington's bedroom that he died in. He died from strep throat. At the museum we got to see George Washington's dentures.
We went to Union Station after that and barely had time to grab a snack before our Monuments by Moonlight tour. We really like the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial. We really like the Iwo Jima monument, too.
The teacher is getting delerious now and has probably mispelled lots of words so we are signing off and will write again when we are awake.
